Yakubu Bawa, Esq, Chairman, NBA Jos Branch Congratulates Members  Of The Branch On The Successful Completion Of The 2021 Annual Law Week Celebration. 

In his welcome address,  Mr. Yakubu Bawa charged members of the Branch in consonance with the theme of this year's law week which is Lawyers As Catalysts in Nation Building to rise to the occasion to salvage this nation. The soul of our dear country is under attack. Lawyers in every society are strategically placed to provide visionary, purposeful and result oriented leadership. 

He stated further that lawyers must play the critical role of catalysts. A catalyst is a substance that initiates and facilitates a chemical reaction but not being affected. As lawyers,  in our dear country we must initiates and facilitates a socio- political reaction yet remain unaffected. In a culture of corruption and  impunity we must be resolute and committed in the business of building this country and remain stainless and unspotted by any deleterious effects.

He concluded by thanking God for the success of the Branch's annual law week celebrations.

Former Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Bags One Imprisonment For Giving Police False Information  By Abasiofiok Inyang  A 58 year old former lawmaker and councilor who represented Midim Ward in Abak Local Government Area, Hon. Saviour Hanson Akpan has been sentenced to one year imprison for giving police false information of theft and murder of a three day old baby. Hon.
