All of us at Legal Bar News (LBN) celebrate an extraordinary and exceptional Bar man, a kind hearted legal practitioner and the 30th President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Olumide Akpata as he becomes a year older today, 7th October, 2024.

Mr. Olumide Akpata is a foundation member of the Nigerian Bar Association - Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) who later became the Secretary and Chairman of the Section in 2012 and 2016 respectively. He is also a Senior Partner and the Head of the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group at Templars Law Firm, one of the leading law firms in Nigeria.

Former Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Bags One Imprisonment For Giving Police False Information  By Abasiofiok Inyang  A 58 year old former lawmaker and councilor who represented Midim Ward in Abak Local Government Area, Hon. Saviour Hanson Akpan has been sentenced to one year imprison for giving police false information of theft and murder of a three day old baby. Hon. Akpan bagged the one year jail term in a judgement delivered on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 by Presiding Magistrate Sam Ukoima Esq of Magistrate Court 11, Uyo.
