Hon. Justice Felicitas J. Ibanga: A Beacon of Hope and Inspiration to Many
By: Angela Mick-Akpabio Esq.

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Hon. Justice Felicitas J. Ibanga's passing on January 15th, 2024, as I was on my way to the Court of Appeal. The sudden and unexpected news came as a rude shock, leaving me feeling stunned and heartbroken. The thought of a world without her guidance, wisdom, and kindness is difficult to comprehend.

Justice F.J. Ibanga was more than just a leader and mentor; she was a catalyst for growth, a beacon of hope, and a shining example of compassion and empathy. Her impact on my life and the lives of countless others, especially in the Ministry of Justice, Akwa Ibom State, is immeasurable. She had a unique gift for seeing the best in people and bringing out the best in us. Her humility, hard work, and kindness inspired us to strive for excellence in our work and in our lives.

She led by example, demonstrating a tireless commitment to justice and a passion for making a positive impact. Her influence helped shape us into the professionals we are today, and we are forever grateful. The Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, and the legal community will deeply miss her wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment to justice. Her contributions to the legal community will not be forgotten. Akwa Ibom State, which she served with dedication and passion, will also miss her leadership and wisdom.

Her birthday eve calls to me, thoughtful gestures, and warm wishes made me feel seen, heard, and valued. She took a personal interest in our well-being and celebrated our milestones, making us feel like family. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the memories we shared with her. We remember her warm smile, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering optimism.

Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, and we will strive to continue her work with the same humility, hard work, and kindness that she showed us. As she is laid to rest tomorrow, we bid her a final farewell. Adieu! My Dear Director, My Friend, and My Lord, till we meet again on the Resurrection Morning.
