Auta Nyada, Esq. Graces The 2023 Law Week Ceremony of NBA, Makurdi Branch

The Secretary, NBA Legal Education Committee and Member, NBA Welfare Committee, Auta Nyada, Esq. presented a paper titled: "THE LAWYER TO BE" during the NBA Makurdi Branch Law Week, 2023 with the theme: Preserving the mobility of the legal profession held at the NBA Bar Foyer, High Court Complex, Makurdi, Benue State. The Makurdi Branch Law Week commenced on 27th April, 2023 and ended on 30th April, 2023.

Nyada Esq. noted that it is beyond argument that effectiveness and efficiency are the major tools that will keep a lawyer focused on the character required for utmost and quality productivity. And, to be effective is to be successful in producing a desired or intended result.

Nyada Esq. also noted that It takes only a person who knows the secrets, qualities and skills required of a lawyer to become “THE LAWYER TO BE”. The skills a lawyer needs for an ideal career are things he must be deliberate and intentional in working upon and diligently develop over time. As they say, practice makes perfect, and dedication makes dreams come true.

Some of the noteworthy highlights of becoming THE LAWYER TO BE as highlighted by Auta Nyada Esq. include: Diligence, smart-work and perseverance, Creativity, Good Communication, Analytical thinking, Clear sense of judgement, Research and Pro-people.

The Former National General Secretary of the NBA Young Lawyers Forum and Publicity Secretary of NBA Suleja Branch concluded paper presentation with a quote from the great scientist, Sir Isaac Newton, that “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Again, I implore any one that aspires to be an effective lawyer to study the lives of great lawyers not only in Makurdi Branch, but across the country. Listen to them. Read their books. And when the knowledge gleaned from studying their lives is combined with the tools mentioned above, such lawyer is on his way to becoming THE LAWYER TO BE.

He also noted that above everything we have discussed, there is a God-Factor that I have observed working for every lawyer who has become THE LAWYER TO BE.
