Auta Nyada Sends Good Will Message To NBA Asaba Branch On The Occasion Of Its Law Week Held On The 1st To 5th December, 2021.

I heartily felicitate with the Executives and members of Asaba Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association on the auspicious occasion of its 2021 law week with the Theme "Recalibrating the Nigerian Legal System for Effective Justice Delivery". 

Indeed the theme of this year's law week resonates that ceaseless desire of our profession to meet the expectations of the public; especially at a time when the issues of judicial autonomy which is a pivotal part of Justice delivery, is at the front burner of our national discourse; notwithstanding that politicians have made it seem like a Herculean task. It is apparent that a conversation on this theme will bring to fore, infinite legal mechanisms exigent for retooling effective justice delivery vis-a-vis the current reality of our judiciary.

Like the theme itself, I have no doubt in my mind that you have assembled the best and choicest of legal minds to engage the ever curious hearts of our legal community with a view to proffer practical ways that we, the legal community can meet the yearnings and aspirations of the society at large. As such, I cannot but wish you fruitful deliberations throughout the period of this exercise.

As you retire to dine and wine with one another in keeping with the age-long traditions of the Bar, I do hope and pray that it will solidify the bond of professional brotherhood and camaraderie that we are known for.

Former Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Bags One Imprisonment For Giving Police False Information  By Abasiofiok Inyang  A 58 year old former lawmaker and councilor who represented Midim Ward in Abak Local Government Area, Hon. Saviour Hanson Akpan has been sentenced to one year imprison for giving police false information of theft and murder of a three day old baby. Hon.
