Auta Nyada Congratulates Shendam, Eket, And Jos Branches, Of The Nigerian Bar Association On The Successful Conclusion Of Their Law Week And Dinner:

I sincerely and heartily congratulate the Executives and members of the Shendam, Eket and Jos branches of the Nigerian Bar Association on their successful conclusion of the 2021 law week with various themes bothering on current trends in legal practice.

This message is compelled by the fact that despite the unfavourable legal environment for the Nigerian lawyers have to work under since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which has also drastically affected their work load and earnings, I find it elating that your branches still found it worthwhile to keep to the age long traditions of the Bar by observing this year's law week. This for me, is an unprecedented feat that is deserving of honest commendation.

It is therefore my wish and prayers that the new legal year will adequately compensate for the lost time and earnings of our colleagues.

Former Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Bags One Imprisonment For Giving Police False Information  By Abasiofiok Inyang  A 58 year old former lawmaker and councilor who represented Midim Ward in Abak Local Government Area, Hon. Saviour Hanson Akpan has been sentenced to one year imprison for giving police false information of theft and murder of a three day old baby. Hon.
