Ogaga Emoghwanre, Esq.  Welcomes NBA Delegates To The 61st Annual General Conference Of The Nigerian Bar Association.

My Dear Learned Seniors-- both of the Inner and Outer Bar; Distinguished members of the Hononary Body of Benchers; and Fellow Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the beautiful city of Port Harcourt on this occasion of the 61st Annual General Conference, 2021 ("AGC") of our great Association.

It is estimated that this highly anticipated conference; aptly themed "TAKING  THE LEAD" will attract well over 10,000 delegates from within and outside Nigeria. This is a testament to the high socioeconomic importance of this annual ritual which it is hoped would go a long way in shaping the conversation around issues in our national development.

I must say that after the Covid-19 pandemic and associated factors, frustrated the possibility of having this event in the manner it is being held this time, it is indeed heartwarming to once again, have a convocation of great legal minds together under one roof to interrogate the very essence of the legal profession, our Association and the nation at large, and I look forward to the usually highly engaging deliberations that define it.

As you journey into the city of Port Harcourt  from the length and breadth of our great nation for this August event, I wish you a very safe and enjoyable journey, as well as a memorable time in the Garden City as we acquaint ourselves towards Taking the Lead.
