The Governing Council and the entire membership of the Eastern Bar Forum celebrate the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Anthony Olumide Akpata as he clocks a year older today.

Mr. President, the Governing Council and members of the Eastern Bar Forum are very pleased with the giant steps you are taking to reposition the Bar and the enormous achievements you have recorded so far. The EBF is firmly resolved to continue to support your administration to the end. The EBF is confident that the NBA under your leadership will continue to uphold and promote the rule of law in Nigeria and remain the voice of the voiceless in a polity where fear and intimidation is regularly deployed to muzzle the opposition and all forms of dissent.

Former Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Bags One Imprisonment For Giving Police False Information  By Abasiofiok Inyang  A 58 year old former lawmaker and councilor who represented Midim Ward in Abak Local Government Area, Hon. Saviour Hanson Akpan has been sentenced to one year imprison for giving police false information of theft and murder of a three day old baby. Hon. Akpan bagged the one year jail term in a judgement delivered on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 by Presiding Magistrate Sam Ukoima Esq of Magistrate Court 11, Uyo.
