PRESS RELEASE.

POSTPONEMENT OF THE EASTERN BAR FORUM (EBF) QUARTERLY GENERAL MEETING.

The attention of the Governor and members of the Governing Council of the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) has been drawn to a pronouncement purported to be made by the IPOB declaring a sit-at-home on October 1 2021 in the South East. In view of the fact that such pronouncements have in the past led to incidents of violence and serious disruptions of inter-state travel in the area, the EBF has taken the difficult decision to postpone its Quarterly General meeting earlier scheduled to hold on 1st -2nd October, 2021 to 8th-9th October, 2021.

Consequently, the meeting schedule is adjusted as follows:

DAY 1:

A. Friday, 8/10/2021.
1. Arrival.
2. Welcome Cocktail - 6pm at Chief Charles E. N. Obegolu Bar Centre, Obeledu, Anaocha: Courtesy of the Chief Judge of Anambra State.

3. Welcome Party at Dikeizu Manor, No. 1 Obeledu Avenue, Iruowelle Village, Obeledu: Courtesy Chief & Mrs Emeka Obegolu, Akajiugo Anaocha N' Okotu.

DAY 2:

A. Saturday: 9/10/2021
1. Breakfast -
7.30am at NBA Anaocha Branch Secretariat (Chief Charles E.N. Obegolu Bar Center) Obeledu, Anaocha LGA Anambra State

2. General Meeting - 10am at Chief Charles E. N. Obegolu Bar Centre, Obeledu, Anaocha.

3. Dinner - 6pm at Golden Tulip Hotels and Resort, Agulu, Anambra State, Courtesy: NBA Anaocha Branch.

All inconveniences this postponement may cause to members, guests and the general public is highly regretted.

Former Akwa Ibom Lawmaker Bags One Imprisonment For Giving Police False Information  By Abasiofiok Inyang  A 58 year old former lawmaker and councilor who represented Midim Ward in Abak Local Government Area, Hon. Saviour Hanson Akpan has been sentenced to one year imprison for giving police false information of theft and murder of a three day old baby. Hon.
