Message Of Condolences To The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)
By: Dr Samson Raphael Osagie

On behalf of the  Law Firm, Samson Ima-Osagie & Associates (Law & Justice Chambers) Abuja, I wish to express our sincere condolences to the President and members of the Nigerian Bar Association over the demise of three of its prominent members and branch officers, to wit: Dr. Hauwa Shekarau, Chairman of the Abuja ( Unity) Bar, C. D Omekagu-Odumeh Esq, Orlu Branch Publicity Secretary
and  Prof. Dorothy Udo Umoatan.the Coordinator of the African Women Lawyers Association, (AWLA) Akwa Ibom State, AWLAN.

The death of these three Legal Practitioners at a time their services were most needed in their various capacities is indeed a huge setback for the Nigerian Bar.

Of particular note is the fact that the late Chairman of the Abuja branch of the Bar was a very hardworking professional whose commitment to bringing unity to the  once crisis ridden branch was beginning to pay off.

I also wish to commiserate with the respective families of these great Legal personalities and pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

I urge the security agencies to unmask, arrest and prosecute the criminals who murdered the Orlu branch publicity secretary as that gruesome murder must not go unpunished otherwise it has the potential of affecting the moral, courage and commitment of Legal Practitioners in the performance of their professional  duties as ministers in the temple of justice.

Once again I whole-heartedly commiserate with the entire Bar Association for the loss of these great learned friends of ours. May their gentle souls rest in Perfect peace. Amen
