It was indeed a first of its kind, pace setting and epoch making event when yesterday, 24th September, 2021, the Supervisor For Youth and Sports, Essien Udim, Imo Umossoh, Esq., hosted a cross section of Essien Udim youths, youth groups and formations. They included the Youth Caucus, the Youth Council, the Dakkada Youth Ambassadors, the PDP Youth Leaders, the Young Leaders Forum, the Village Youth in Essien Udim, the Female Youth in Essien Udim, the Ujo Mkparawa Essien Udim, youth leaders, stakeholders and elders across Essien Udim at his family compound at Afaha Ikot Ebak, the Essien Udim Capital.

Gracing the occasion was the Political Leader of Afaha and immediate past Akwa Ibom State Deputy Chairman of PDP, Rt. Hon. Sir Sunyiekekere Inokon, who had with him, a former Supervisor in Essien Udim, Hon. Uduak Isobara. 

Sir Inokon while welcoming all the youths and guests into the land of Afaha in his capacity as the Political Leader of Afaha began with a minute silence in honour of Late Hon. Barr. Nsini Umossoh, the father of the host and Supervisor for Youth and Sports, Imo Umossoh, Esq., who died while in active service to his fatherland as the Member representing Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

Sir Inokon continued by thanking God for the wisdom, foresight and vision of Imo Umossoh, Esq., in gathering the youths of Essien Udim together as many political office holders have not done anything of this kind despite their higher positions.

Sir Inokon also urged the youths of Essien Udim to maintain peace, team spirit, be law abiding and focused in support of the government of His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel. 

Sir Inokon further solicited the support of the youths for Prince Ukpong Akpabio, Esq., the Honorable Commissioner for Trade and Investments; Hon. Barr. Esse Umoh, Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; and the Essien Udim Local Government Chairman, Hon. Anthony Luke.

Sir Inokon concluded by adding that with a formidable youth system, the youths will become vibrant and great leaders to defend and protect the dignity of Essien Udim and beyond. He went further to invoke God's blessings upon the youths of Essien Udim  and asked God for His sustainance as no youth will die without accomplishing his or her purpose on earth.

The host, Imo Umossoh, Esq., thanked God for finding his unworthy person worthy for this political appointment. He went further to thank His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the Local Government Chairman of Essien Udim, Hon. Anthony Luke for giving him this opportunity amongst other vibrant youths of Essien Udim. His thanks extended to his Political Leader, Rt. Hon. Sir Sunyiekekere Inokon for his nomination and continued support. He went further to thank the youths of Essien Udim for their support so far as the event marked his one hundred days in office.

Umossoh Esq., highlighted that the essence of the meeting was to appreciate the friendly youths of Essien Udim and also solicit more support from them for our dear State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel; the Commissioner for Trade and Investments, Prince Ukpong Akpabio; the member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Esse Umoh; the Essien Udim Local Government Chairman, Hon. Anthony Luke; and our leaders in their various capacities.

Umossoh, Esq. went further to encourage the youths to be more active in sensitising and encouraging people in their various wards and villages to participate in the Continuous Voters Registration Exercise which according to the INEC timetable, the second quarter will commence on 4th October, 2021. This is so that Essien Udim can maintain her pride of place in the polity of Akwa Ibom State as one of the major  "votes basket" in the state. 
The honourable Supervisor also encouraged the youths to participate and vigorously sensitise their people to participate in the ongoing PDP online registration.

Hon. Polycarp Umoh, the Deputy Legislative Leader of the Essien Udim Legislature gave more kudos to Imo Umossoh, Esq., the host, for this initiative. He advised him to keep the flag flying as a man of aspirations sees beyond his microscopic environment. He urged the youths in their various positions to always use their offices to carry other youths along.

The Dean, College of Supervisors in Essien Udim, Hon. Uduak Adolf Nathan represented by the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Itoro Akpan expressed his gratitude towards his colleague's spirit of assembling the youths of Essien Udim for more than just a dinner. He thanked Imo Umossoh, Esq., and promised that all the Supervisors will not stop to work to foster unity and togetherness amongst the youths of Essien Udim. He said he considers this platform as suitable for sharing ideas and suggestions for a better tomorrow. He solicited for the support of the youths as that and their prayers will strengthen the leaders. 

Goodwill messages were also received from Hon. Idongesit Wilcox, a former Supervisor and Coordinator, Ujo Mkparawa Essien Udim; Mr. Itoro Columba (Nsobom); Prince Udo Ejiara, President Essien Udim Village Youth; Hon. Itoro Umoren, Ward Chairman, Afaha Ward 2; Mrs. Doris Udoh, Coordinator Female Youth, Essien Udim; Mr. Ifiok Luke Udoh, International President, Young Leaders Forum; and, Rev. Uwem Udom, PDP Youth Leader, Ekpenyong 2 on behalf of all PDP Youth Leaders. They all unanimously commended the host for this kind of event which they said was first of its kind in Essien Udim and asked God to bless and lift him higher.

Uduak Ette, Political Leader, Ikot Obong Village, Afaha; Elder Saturday Uko, President Afaha Support Group; and a host of youths across Essien Udim
